As Paul´s last daughter entered college, he decided it was time for a lifestyle change. Cold, icy, snowy winters become less acceptable as one matures. Paul has always loved the beach and decided the Gulf lifestyle best met his criteria for a warm, sunny outdoor lifestyle all year. He has lived on Clearwater Beach and Sand Key for the past 19 years and resides in the Belle Harbor Condominiums. He is now enjoying the waterfront life style all year, including boating, fishing and just walking the beautiful White Sands of Clearwater Beach.
PAUL'S EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Paul studied finance and accounting at Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts, graduating with a Bachelors in Accounting in 1980. He served in various financial executive positions with Fortune 500 companies in the Northeast and Midwest over the next 25 years. He was founder and CEO of a real estate development company in Minnesota for several years, where he was responsible for land acquisition, zoning, construction, and sales and marketing activities for luxury waterfront homes.
Paul has been a professional residential real estate investor for over 30 years. He is a member of the RE/MAX Chairman's Club for 2004, 2005, 2007, 2014 and 2015, the Platinum Club for 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2013, and the 100% Club in 2003, 2009, 2011 and 2012. He was ranked as RE/MAX's #7 REALTOR in the state of Florida for 2007, #11 for 2010 and #17 for 2014 out of nearly 5,000 agents. He was also the #2 REALTOR in our market for 2014 and #5 in 2015.
PAUL'S COMMUNITY SERVICE
Paul believes in community service and was elected as a Clearwater City Councilmember in 2007 and again in 2010, serving a total of seven (7) years including three (3) years where his colleagues elected him Vice Mayor. Paul has always believed in civic responsibility and has felt that Term Limits facilitated the election of citizen legislators, as our founding fathers intended. He relinquished his seat on March 24, 2014 in accordance with the City Charter.
The Tampa Bay Times and Clearwater Gazette published his final interviews as an elected official shortly before he left office. He believes the City of Clearwater has come a long way the past seven (7) years. The City improved its investment grade credit rating to AA- during his tenure. He departs knowing we have a strong Mayor and City Council to continue the good work accomplished during his two (2) terms.
